Unassociated Objects

All newly created objects are unassociated. CDO creates local copies of these objects for the relevant devices and rulesets when these objects are used by another object group, access rule, NAT rule or any other such entity. Subsequently, you can modify the local object for a particular device and these changes are applied to the device during deployment.

Unassociated objects remain in CDO as a copy to ensure that not all configurations are lost if the device or ruleset associated with the object is deleted accidentally. However, the Unassociated object for which the configuration values remain unchanged after being assigned to a ruleset or a device is deleted daily from the system as a clean-up activity.

To view the Unassociated objects click in the left-hand pane of the Objects tab and select the Unassociated checkbox.
